Kevin and Karen | Indianapolis Museum of Art Wedding

Meet Karen and Kevin. We had an absolute blast during their wedding day. I cannot wait to share all the amazing details with you!

The details I loved:

From the photos around the Indianapolis Museum of Art, to their gorgeous ceremony at the Methodist Church on Meridian. Every detail was stunning. Especially her bouquet! I’m a sucker for ranunculus. They were the perfect accessory for the killer green dresses that Karen picked for her ladies.

Now let’s talk about the escort cards that Karen’s mom’s art class made for their wedding! Each guest got their own mini easel and canvas with painted flowers (and painted bugs for the kids!)

I’m also absolutely gaga over her invites! I loved all the gold accents throughout Kevin and Karen’s wedding, but the gold on the invites took the cake. Speaking of cake, the cake was gold too. And it was delicious.

I seriously cannot get enough of these two. Some of my favorite photos from the year have come from their wedding, and I cannot wait to share them with all of you! Congrats Karen and Kevin, may you have a very blessed life together!

How they met: Kevin and Karen met in Spanish class during their freshman year at Purdue University. What started off as just a friendly competition to see who could get the better grade (an issue that is still debated) turned into a friendship and eventually a romance. Kevin lavaliered Karen at his fraternity shortly before graduation, a definite sign of a future engagement. After graduation, and the mad hunt for employment, Kevin moved from northwestern Indiana to Indianapolis in October 2013.

Their proposal story: After a not-so-subtle manicure suggestion by her sister, Karen was incredibly suspicious that the proposal was coming that weekend, especially since Kevin had suggested a nice dinner to celebrate a possible promotion. He chose Oceanaire for dinner and after wine, seafood, and basked Alaska, Karen and Kevin made their way to Monument Circle, not ready to end their evening. Kevin proposed at the Monument under the Christmas tree lights, and of course Karen said yes! Her sister, Marcy, acted as a photographer that night and captured the whole proposal. After the initial shock had partially worn off, Marcy suggested they walk to Bakersfield for celebratory margaritas, where Karen's family was waiting for a surprise engagement party. It was incredibly special to be able to share the excitement with so many loved ones! After that evening, the planning quickly began!

Hobbies they like to do as a couple: Karen and Kevin love visiting local breweries and wineries, attending sporting events, cheering on the Blackhawks, caring for their pet hedgehog, and hosting/visiting out-of-town friends. They've also returned to the setting in which they met, the classroom, to get their MBAs together.

Favorite part about planning their wedding: Planning the wedding has been a whirlwind, but also incredibly fun, experience. Selecting the menu for the evening might have to "take the cake" as the planning favorite, but finding our photographer was also exciting!

Plans does the future hold them: The near future includes graduating from Anderson University with MBAs, a one-year anniversary "honeymoon", and possibly adopting some fur-kids. We do want children some day, but we'd love to have some time for us to just enjoy being married!
